Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions are simply small individual synthetic pieces made to look like an eyelash. These are available in many sizes, widths and curls to mimic your natural lash.

ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS SAFE?

Absolutely!!! Eyelash extensions when applied with proper technique and isolation of your natural lash, you will find no damage done to your natural eyelash. 

As extensions are placed directly onto your natural lash, NOT your skin in any way, it will simply fall out with your natural lash with no damage caused.

HOW LONG DO THEY LAST? 

Your natural eyelashes fall out every 60-90 days - not all at once - (thankfully!) But as one comes out one is ready in its place. This being said, you can get a great look with your extensions for a good 3-4 weeks before you need a fill.

A fill is where your lash technician will go in, brush out any lose natural lashes, find the new lashes able to have an extension placed on and simply fill them back up.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE WITH CLASSIC, HYBRID AND VOLUME? 

Classic lashes are ONE synthetic extension placed onto ONE natural lash. Volume lashes are individual small fans of 2 or more extensions that are then placed onto ONE natural lash, giving it a fuller look. So then Hybrid is a nice mix of the two, incorporating individual with little fans.

DO I STILL NEED MASCARA? 

While we do advise against this and promise that with your new extensions you won't be needing mascara, some clients still wish to use it or just apply it closer to their fill dates. This is fine but you must ensure your mascara is NOT waterproof or contain any oils! 

DOES IT HURT?

No - not at all, eyelash extensions are a safe and pain free way to give you the look you desire. In fact many clients actually fall asleep while having their lash treatment. 

MY LASHES ARE SMALL - WILL IT STILL WORK?

YES!!! While you may have small natural lashes, you can still have extensions placed on. However at ONYX Beauty the health and safety of your natural lash is our main priority and we will NOT go any longer in length than we see fit. But promise you will still get length added to create the look you desire. 

Lash Lifts

A lash lift is using your natural lashes and given them a lift from the roots to create the ultimate curl.

IS A LASH LIFT SAFE? 

Absolutely! While it is still a chemical that ultimately curls the lash, we only use the best available and wouldn't be offering this as a service if it wasn't safe to do so.

HOW LONG DO THEY LAST? 

You can expect a good 8-10 weeks of curled perfect lashes.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE WITH A LASH LIFT TO LASH EXTENSIONS? 

A lash lift is using what you have! We curl YOUR natural lashes to make them look longer and fuller where as extensions are synthetic lashes stick on top of your natural lash. 

They both give a great look, depending on what you are after. A lash lift takes less than half the time of a full set of eyelash extensions which means less time you need to be in the salon. A lash lift also allows you extend the time in between your appointments and there are no restrictions on what you can or can't do with your lash lift as it is your natural lash. 

DO I STILL NEED MASCARA? 

Once your lashes are lifted, they will then be tinted to make them appear darker. So no you won't need to wear mascara however if you feel the need to do so, they will look even more amazing!!! 

DOES IT HURT?

Not at all!! While this 45minute treatment doesn't quite give you time to sleep, you will still get time to relax then enjoy your beautifully curled lashes afterwards with no pain whatsoever! 

MY LASHES ARE SMALL - WILL IT STILL WORK?

It will work, however talking to your technician before hand to get personal advice as to if it will be the best treatment for you.
